About Us

It all started when…

In 2004, Sylvia Mader learned about the plight of orphans in Moldova from a friend who grew up there. She started sending donations of boots and warm children’s clothing to the Strasheni Orphanage with her friend when she would return to Moldova.

In 2006, Sylvia visited Moldova for the first time. She was captivated with these beautiful children and decided to help as many orphans as possible. Since then Sylvia has visited Moldova each year to work with Diana Todica, our volunteer Director, and our network of volunteers who make our programs possible. Our outreach has grown through our support of Pastor Vasile Surdu’s summer programs for orphans and destitute children, his transitional home for boys, and social orphan programs, and our partnerships with the Oak House transitional home in Chisinau, and the Beginning of Life organization.
