Winter 2025 newsletter

Since 2022, STO has partnered with local organizations that shelter Ukrainian refugees. This year, we were happy to expand our computer education by adding dedicated classes for Ukrainian refugee children. Despite the trauma they face from the ongoing war, our Ukrainian students have proved to be eager learners, and many have already learned basic programming and website development.

2024 Moldova visit

In mid-September, Chairperson Sylvia Mader, Vice Chair Roch Turco, and Secretary Roger Tweed visited Moldova to meet with our partner organizations and volunteers to assess our on-going efforts and explore opportunities to improve/expand our existing programs in the face of new challenges.

Who we are

Save the Orphans (STO) is a non- profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of orphans and destitute families in Moldova, Europe’s poorest country.

A special thank you

goes to those of you who donated to our Special Appeal to Help Ukrainian Refugees in Moldova. Our partner organization in Moldova, the Oak House Transitional Home for orphans in Chisinau, continues to work feeding, clothing and housing these refugees.

Sponsorships

In response to requests from our supporters to provide a direct and regular stream of support for individual orphans in Moldova, Save the Orphans will begin sponsoring Moldovan orphans.
